I first met Peter Najarian in the fall of 1967 when we were both Stegner Fellows at Stanford. Early the next year, he moved to Bolinas and we became close friends. A talented self-taught painter as well as an accomplished writer, Peter has illustrated many of his books himself. For more than forty years, he has lived the art life with near monastic dedication.
