The house at Cap de Berberia on the island of Formentera, smallest of the Balearics, in the Mediterranean off the coast of Spain. I lived here, without electricity or running water, for most of 1966 and wrote in the little room on the second floor. The rent was six hundred pesetas ($12.00) a month.
